Crafting Connection. Inspiring Well-Being. Strengthening Community.

The Beehive Wool Shop Foundation is the charitable arm of Victoria’s historic Beehive Wool Shop. Founded in 2024, the Foundation exists to ensure that everyone – regardless of income, identity, age, or ability – can experience the comfort, creativity, and belonging that fibre arts bring.
We believe that knitting, crochet, and other fibre crafts are powerful tools for mental well-being, community building, and self-expression. Our work focuses on reducing economic and social barriers so that people across Greater Victoria, especially 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, low-income residents, newcomers, seniors, youth, racialized communities, people with disabilities, and those in remote or rural areas, can take part fully in craft and community.

Our Mission
To promote community engagement and mental well-being through the practice and appreciation of fibre arts, while removing the economic barriers that prevent people from participating.
Our Vision
A vibrant, connected community where everyone can access the therapeutic and social benefits of fibrecraft – and where the skills and traditions of knitting and crochet are shared widely as tools for creativity, resilience, and belonging.
Our Values
- Accessibility – Creative expression should be open to all.
- Community – We build inclusive, welcoming spaces that strengthen connection.
- Well-Being – Fibre arts support mindfulness, healing, and confidence.
- Education – We share skills, traditions, and knowledge generously.
- Integrity – We operate with transparency, respect, and accountability.
